This drum base heater is designed for controlled heating of standard 200 litre drums. Unlike a drum heater that transfers heat through the drum wall, the base heater applies heat directly through the bottom of the container. This makes it particularly suitable for materials that settle at the base or require additional heat input from below. The integrated digital controller provides accurate temperature control up to 120 °C.

Product Description

Many industrial materials become highly viscous or begin to settle at the bottom of the drum during storage. By applying heat directly through the drum base, the heater targets the area where additional thermal energy is often most beneficial. This can improve material flow and assist in melting solidified product residues.

The drum base heater can be used either as a standalone heating solution or together with a drum heater. When combined with a heating jacket and insulation jacket, it helps achieve more uniform heat distribution throughout the drum while reducing heating times and improving overall energy efficiency.

• Before use, check the manufacturer’s specifications regarding the maximum media temperature for the respective container (IBC, drum, canister, etc.). 
• All temperatures listed are for guidance only.
• The temperatures that can be achieved depend on many variables, such as the ambient temperature, the supply voltage, the medium, the drum material, the drum size, whether an agitator is used, and much more.
• The heating element must only be operated on filled containers! DO NOT under any circumstances perform a “dry test.” This could damage the container or even cause it to melt.
• The heating element must be operated at a connection equipped with a properly rated residual current device (RCD) and circuit breaker.
• Be sure to read and follow the manufacturer’s instructions on the product and the manual for the proper operation of the heating element.
